Please join St. Christopher’s on Memorial Day as we remember those who have given their lives in service to our country. We are honored to have The Rev. Dr. Robert Certain providing the homily. He is an alumnus of Emory University, retired Air Force veteran, and Parish Priest. He is currently serving as interim rector of the Church of the Messiah in Gonzales, Texas. Learn more about The Rev. Dr. Certain here. Singing the Liturgy for this year’s mass will be the amazing Harmonia Stellarum Houston choir. We welcome you to worship with us in this sacred service of remembrance.
St. Christophers By the Sea is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas serving the community of Portland. The mission of the church, as stated in the Book of Common Prayer’s catechism, is “to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.” We follow Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationships with God, with each other, and with the earth.
How We Worship?
Worship at St. Christopher’s is offered in the Catholic Tradition of the Church of England; this means our worship is richly sacramental and devotional in character, centred on Christ in the Mass – the Eucharist or Holy Communion – the Sacrament of his Body and Blood.
